Cattery Assistant (July 2024)
Eden Barn Cattery are looking for a Full or Part-Time assistant to join our cattery team. The position will be based at Eden Barn Cattery, North Banbury Veterinary Centre, Southam Road, Banbury OX16 1ST, so transport to get there will be necessary.
Job role to include, but not limited to:
- Cleaning cattery cages and ensuring boarders are comfortable and have appropriate food and water
- Cleaning the avian cages, including parrot cages and chicken pens and ensuring the boarders are comfortable and have appropriate food and water
- Cleaning the cages of the small furry boarders and ensuring they are comfortable and have appropriate food and water
- Giving medication to animals that are staying with us
- General cleaning and re-stocking
- Admitting and discharging of boarders
The successful candidate must have the ability to adhere to strict procedures and protocols which are essential to ensure the welfare of the animals in our care. They must have at least a basic understanding of computers to ensure they have the ability to access our computer system, to take card payments and to be able to admit and discharge boarders. There may be some lone working, so they must have the initiative to be able to work on their own. They must be hardworking, adaptable, and a team player with a strong sense of attention to detail and a love of animals is a must!
Shifts on a rota basis between the hours of 8am & 6.30pm and to include weekends and Bank Holidays. Shifts may be split, which may require attending twice a day.
Previous experience ideal but full training will be given to the right candidate.
